Aiken has been the winter home of many advanced Eventing riders for years. Phillip Dutton is an Australian-born  dual Olympic Gold medalist who formerly competed for his country of birth. Today he is  considered by many as the Anchor equestrian for the US Eventing team.

Spectators can expect to see competitors that will be competing in the upcoming Pan Am Games as well as the next Olympic Games that will be held in Tokyo.

Dressage will take place Friday morning, March 1, using USEF Advanced Test B. Showjumping will follow on Friday afternoon/evening with a course set at Advanced height and designed by Michel Vaillancourt

According to US Olympian Boyd Martin, “The cross country course will ride like a show jumping jump off.”

The cross country phase  takes place on Saturday.  Captain Mark Phillip’s course will run approximately 2000 meters with a total of 20 jumping efforts, including a water complex and banks. All the jumps will have “Aiken Themes,” meandering through the crowd and parking lot. All spectators will have the opportunity to be upfront and personal.

Mission
The MISSION of the Aiken Horse Park Foundation is to promote Aiken’s equestrian way of life and to encourage the community’s civic, educational, and charitable endeavors.

The winning rider will receive $2500, 2nd place $1500 and 3rd place $1000, which will be awarded to the coerresponding charity.
